I opt for vintage and unique finds on my shelf. I think that those pops of character and timelessness are key to keeping your shelves feeling stale and boring. But the real key to having all of your shelves work together? The triangle method. While you don’t want things on repeat too much, having slight symmetry helps bring everything together. So putting similar items at each point of a triangle; things like books or boxes or a similar colored decorative item. This helped me a ton when I was putting together my living room shelves. There are 24 of them and it would be very easy for it to feel super jumbled and not cohesive. But by using the triangle method I tried to tie shelves together without being repetitive.
