A GUIDE: STYLING A PEDESTAL TABLE

These tables are great accent pieces. Ours is a staple to our entryway and a real eye-catching piece, and while I think that they are beautiful to stand out, they are also great to blend in or serve as accents to an otherwise “finished” room.

I love changing out the decor on our entryway pedestal table because it’s a great way to set the tone for the rest of the house. Making it seasonal is also my favorite part of the styling process and I even occasionally change it out even more; like during the holidays. But the rest of the year it tends to remain unchanged for months at a time.

Depending on the size and location of your table will determine how bold you may want to go with the styling pieces. Since ours is not very large, I can only place so many books on it because multiple stacks wouldn’t fit very well. But for larger tables that can accommodate several stacks of books, I say go for it!

I also tend to go pretty grand with the greenery. It’s the first thing people see when they enter our home so I want it to feel magnificent, as well as match the height of our ceilings. At 10′ ceilings and a pendant light hanging about 7′ off the ground, you don’t want things to land too low or it will create dead space in the height and make the styling quite literally fall short 🙂
